Construction workers put their lives on the line every day. Should unions be content entrusting the safety and health of their members to employers alone? Unions have a responsibility in getting members home safe and healthy at the end of the day and union staff best serve workers when they’re up-to-speed on top safety issues.

The training will enable participants to identify the key elements of each hazard, assess risk factors, and understand control strategies to prevent worker injuries and fatalities. Putting training into action in the real world, we’ll interact with Cal/OSHA guest speakers about current enforcement issues, trends and ways we can work together to problem solve difficult safety situations. We’ll wrap-up the day with a review of workers’ rights and how we can be effective leaders in health and safety.
*Training is offered through our federal OSHA grant.
